""In one of the most significant constitutional rulings handed down in many years, the Supreme Court, by a 5-4 vote, has ruled that individual Americans have a right to protect themselves with a firearm under the 2nd Amendment."

DC won't give up so easily
Tue, July 1, 2008 - 8:28 AMIts not over yet;
1. There are no (public) gun dealers in DC
2. DC is claiming that only single shots and revolvers will be allowed. -

Re: DC won't give up so easily
Fri, July 4, 2008 - 12:41 AMAdditionally, it don't relate that there are "no (public) gun dealers in DC" as the ruling addressed the right to keep and bear arms being an individula as opposed to collective right making it illegal for DC to ban personal possession. It doesn't matter where procured. Possession by individuals is now LEGAL. If they can't ban possession they can't prevent sales as it is a de-facto legal transaction.
Limiting it to single shots and no place to buy ammo will not pass judicial muster now.
You might want to study this a bit more.
